What is 501FC?
501FC is a free football darts game. You start on 501 and subtract footballers' career statistics to "check out" to zero, the same way a darts player works down their score. See How to Play for the full rules.
How do I score points?
Each round has a category and a metric — for example, Premier League goals. When you name an eligible player, their value for that metric is subtracted from your total. Pick a 90-goal striker and your score drops by 90.
Why did my pick score zero?
Three reasons are possible: the player does not match the day's category, their stat is a bogey number or above 180 and so is not a legal darts score, or they simply have no recorded value for that metric.
What is a bust?
If a pick would push your total below -10, it is a bust: the score is rejected and your total stays put. You need to find a smaller number to finish.
Do I have to hit exactly zero?
No. Any total from 0 down to -10 counts as a checkout. Landing exactly on zero is the tidiest finish, and in multiplayer the player closest to zero wins.
Do I need an account?
Not for the Daily Challenge or local pass-and-play — those work straight away using an anonymous ID stored in your browser. You only need to sign in for online multiplayer and a public profile with saved stats.
How often does the Daily Challenge change?
A new shared category goes live every 24 hours, and everyone competes on the same puzzle. When you finish you can copy a spoiler-free, Wordle-style summary to share.
Where do the player statistics come from?
They are compiled from publicly available sources and aggregated into the career metrics the game uses. We keep expanding the player pool. If a number looks wrong, email us and we will take a look.
Is 501FC gambling?
No. There is no money, betting, or prizes involved — it is a free trivia puzzle played purely for fun and leaderboard bragging rights.
